Pick all the ones you like. This is a multiple choice poll.

I like the "first to the finish line" races. The pursuit and mass start especially. But the sprint and individual can be interesting to watch. The relays are nice as well when they're close. Sometimes they can be blow outs.

I agree.
I have added the sprint as one of my favorites but I love the pursuit and mass start just a little bit more because it is exciting from start till the end.
At the sprint you sometimes know who is going to win after 20 minutes if not sooner 9in case Bjorndalen starts as one of the first and shoots clear) wink.gif

I actually have no 'real' favourite competition. I like every races which are very close (even though my heart often beats very quickly in that case wink.gif ). But to my mind, there should be maybe more variety in the competetion calender (there's too often 'sprint - relay - pursuit') . [COLOR=blue]I'm also exited about how the new mixed relays will be. I really like that idea - even if I wasn't that entusiastic when I heard about it first wink.gif

A long time ago, there used to be this different format of relays in which all 4 skiers go off together and when they get to the shooting range, only 2 shoot while the other 2 wait at the exit of the range.
I thought that was quite interesting to watch. Made it look like a team time trial in cycling lol.
I'm looking forward to the mixed relays myself. A lot of nations only have 2 good skiers in each side so alot of new countries could surprise people. Poland, Ukraine, Czech Rep even, just to name a few.

I was surprised that I wasn't initerested so much in sprint and individual this year. But actually it is more interesting if you have an head-to-head-race.

Well, but I think my thoughts would change after the next "live competitions" biggrin.gif

I really like the masss start 'cause there is alsways this total chaos in the first lap! I simply love the races where everything is so close! But I also like the pursuit!
The race I don't like is the individual! I don't see the real thrill there! smile.gif

Yes The mass starts. It is exiting from the start. It happens a lot that people fall during the first mile so it is important to have a good start so you can racr in front

I do like individual but the others are just more exiting

I like mass start, pursuit and relays, because I think it's more exiting when the first person who crosses the finish line is the one to win.

Call me old school, but I like the 20 K individual event. With the one minute penality for each miss, it really is biathlon. As for the other events, people ski so fast now, a miss or two means nothing. Here is a question, how fast do the world cup skiers ski a penalty loop? In lLake Placid last year, I was figuring about 20-22 seconds.
